Jodhpur Arts Week Edition 1.0
October 1st to 7th, 2025
The inaugural Edition 1.0 of Jodhpur Arts Week hosted a programme of exhibitions, site-specific installations, performances, talks, heritage walks, film screenings, and interactive workshops. Free and open to all, Edition 1.0 created a space for exchange and cross-cultural learning, where everyone could discover something new, regardless of their background or generation.
Under the theme Haath Ro Hunar – Skill of the Hand, the programme celebrated the artisanal expertise embedded in Jodhpur’s cultural fabric. Highlighting collaborative authorship, works by 20+ internationally acclaimed artists directly engaged with 15+ local crafts communities, artisans, and school children from 5 government schools, underscoring the vital role grassroots knowledge plays within the creative ecosystem.
Developed through active learning exchanges, the edition fostered collaborations between the city’s diverse communities, visitors, and local and global experts, celebrating Jodhpur’s layered histories, craft traditions, and contemporary creative practices. By centering the voices and skills of local makers, Haath Ro Hunar positioned making as both a form of individual expression and a collective, community-driven act.
Edition 1.0 attracted an audience of approximately 153,000+ people, with an estimated 32% making repeat visits and over 85% attending more than one venue. A week-long programme with 30+ events engaged a total audience of 800+, with around 58% attending multiple events.
